Feeling Hauntingly Witchy

I have been feeling in the mood for Ghost stories, some Witch spells, and the magic of Wizards...I was lucky enough to have bestowed upon me some Matt board pieces in many different colors, and while going through my new stash I came across this Grayish Lavender color, which inspired me right away(as if the Grey Lady whispered into my ear),..to create a Board book keeping with this color theme and using some of my favorite techniques, vintage trims, and unique images....
this is the cover, which i did some fun stamping, added an image from an antique book I own, added a little gold embossing,a few words from an old dictionary, then decided I needed a Haunting,Ghostly image...to be framed, but wanted a look that was textured, old, grungy, and 'Damaged' from age, use, fire or weather...I LuV doing transfers, but being inspiration hit me at Night, not having the "proper" materials for an image transfer, and then the image itself being an ink jet image,I was a little limited...But I played with around and "accidentally" got lucky with the look I was trying to achieve(mind you, trying for 'Damaged' is more difficult than it seems)...
Here what I used...clear packing tape,
ink jet image of wedding couple,
a paint brush wet with water,
and a butter knife...
I added image to tape, ran wet paint brush over back of image, then scraped "Gently" with butter knife to remove paper in parts(careful not to wet the ink),then took my inked up dauber and ran it over some of the "empty spots" of image.
I used a Spray Adhesive to attach transfer to some handmade, distressed paper.
I have to admit,I have not tried this same process again, but I will tonight!
Here is the back of my Board book with a "Contact Paper" transfer that I learned from a very Cool "ATC Tutorial" by Lesley Venable, over at the Art of Altering,(Please see the badge at left)...
this is a Great Group and I'm a BiG Fan of Lesley's.
Hope to See you there!

Do You Believe in Ghosts?......

I'm not sure whether or not I do ...But let me tell about a story,no worries,
   it's not gory....
It all started when I went  on vacation,
to a Town where ghosts, orbs, and the unexplained are waitin...
St.Augustine,Florida is one of the oldest cities in the States,
the 1500's are it's earliest dates...
Along with my Mother ,Sister, and Aunt,
we went on an evening ghost tour...
There were NO ghosts not even one orb! We never chanted and
quite frankly, the guide was a bore....
We went back to our room that night,
  Thankful without a fright!
We decided to get an early start the next day,
we planned to visit the cemetery along the way...
When does this story get scary you ask?...Hold your horses,
   I can't type that fast~~~
Okay,it's just the 4 of us standing on the sidewalk outside the cemetery(it is fenced off,so you can't go in). It is one of the oldest cemeteries in the Town,Haunted by the ghosts of Priest, and a Little Boy in the Big tree(I don't remember their stories, the trip was from 3 yrs ago you see)....

It is very peaceful and no one around,as we are waitin,i'm lookin at the ground,
as I look up....what do I see?...An odd mist, at eye level, about 15 ft. in front of me(the other side of the fence, near the Big tree)...At first I thought it might be smoke...But as I turned around ,there was no one else there...NOT smoke. The weather was clear,no fog,no low flying clouds,Not any clouds...My Sis was taking pics, when we asked her what did she see,she looked at us perplexed, and a response of "what do you mean?"...
We dismissed the whole cemetery scene and went on our way, never questioning the strange, unexplained mist...Until,later that day.
when reviewing the pics, we saw this....

All 5 pics were takin in succession....She never saw this mist through her lens.....We were all aghast! Was this a ghost we were seeing at last?.....
We still can't explain what we saw...Photoshop you say? NO WAY! This is a TRUE story, and just like I promised you, it was not gory!
Maybe  a little crazy and possibly insane,But this is truly what we had seen...So on that note,we wish you ALL
             A HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
